Day Four: 4th April 2014

It lies where left,
Forlorn and bereft,
Without its partner in tow.
Scuffed and scarred,
Careless discard,
Marked by the slips and slows.

Hop, skip and jump,
Bruises and bumps,
Dancing, dallying days.

Alone and flushed,
In satin pink blush,
But oh! What a day it has been!
Mud, muck and mirth,
Stone, grass and earth,
The adventures its sole has seen!

Hop, skip and jump,
Bruises and bumps,
Dancing, dallying days.

Come morning time,
With its partner in crime,
Off out with abandon, carefree!
Relish each moment,
Free from opponent,
Take scrapes and scuffs happily.

Hop, skip and jump,
Bruises and bumps,
In a chancing, marrying,
Soleful tarrying,
Dancing, dallying daze!
